The mission of AZ Camp 180 is to provide a safe, nurturing environment in a camp setting that cultivates healthy living, family values, teamwork, and life skills to at-risk youth & adults needing guidance, education, love, and support.

A camp experience can change a child’s life forever. Angel Tree camping is a chance for children of incarcerated parents to get away from their daily challenges and have fun in the great outdoors, making new friends and meeting caring adult counselors. At camp, children encounter the love of Jesus and discover hope for the future.

About AZ Camp 180

  • Socialization is a crucial aspect of our work. By providing love and attention, we aim to communicate to children that they are valued, treasured, honored, and important. Our ministry is centered on emphasizing the significance of each child and making them feel that they truly matter.

  • Sessions are provided to the kids to promote self-esteem, explore relationships, and learn faith-based life skills. The kids get to get out of their element. It’s cool to see them in a rural setting where they get to see the trees and nature and just feel dirt under their feet

  • We want to show Angel Tree children they have a family. We’re also here to give caregivers a break and to help bridge the gap for the incarcerated parent. If we can help nurture relationships and support the parent and the caregiver, then the child stands to benefit. And we often see the fruit of that in this environment.

  • This camp is crucial for many kids. The profound change this experience can bring to children feeling unworthy due to a parent's incarceration is the ultimate gift, attributed to Christ, motivating our presence and purpose.

  • Our aim is to support families, ensuring children don't feel alone due to a parent's incarceration. Facilitating connection and healing is our primary goal, particularly for a population often overlooked and affected by the absence of a parent.

  • Kids experience a change in their surroundings, embracing a rural setting with nature. The goal is to impact their lives beyond an annual event, ensuring a lasting connection with God throughout the year, not just during Christmas.
